Pablita Thomas

Board Secretary

Pablita Thomas is the Executive Director of the BC Hospice Palliative Care Association (BCHPCA), a provincial systems level organization that advocates for and supports 70+ hospice societies across British Columbia and the Yukon. With over 15 years of experience in public health, policy, advocacy, and nonprofit leadership, she is known as a collaborative and heart led leader who helps build stronger community systems, partnerships, and practical solutions across sectors.

In her role at BCHPCA, Pablita advances provincial work focused on hospice and palliative care, including; grief/bereavement, caregiver wellness, volunteer mobilization, and strengthening community based palliative care as essential health and mental health infrastructure.

She brings a strong blend of systems thinking, community rooted leadership, and frontline understanding of what families need during serious illness, caregiving, and loss. Pablita holds an Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Community Social Services and an MBA, along with completing her medical studies at Ross University School of Medicine. She lives in Victoria with her two beautiful daughters, and serves as Board Chair of Vantage Point and a board member of CARIPALCA, the Caribbean Palliative Care Association.
