ILC Canada attended the June 2025 Screening of new PBS Documentary on Caregiving at the United Nations

New PBS Documentary Caregiving to Premiere June 24, 2025, with Exclusive Screening at the United Nations

On June 24, 2025, PBS will premiere the highly anticipated documentary Caregiving, executive produced by Bradley Cooper. The film, narrated by Uzo Aduba, explores the deeply personal and often challenging experiences of family and professional caregivers in the U.S. Through the stories of six caregivers, Caregiving sheds light on both the struggles and the joys of providing care, while addressing the urgent need for better resources and support systems for caregivers.

The documentary will be available for streaming on PBS and the PBS app, KPBS, and wellbeings.org. In the lead-up to its premiere, a special screening and panel discussion were held at the United Nations on June 12, 2025. Hosted by the American Association of Caregiving Youth, the event brought together caregivers, advocates, and changemakers to explore the broader caregiving crisis.

Bradley Cooper, who was personally inspired by his experience caring for his father, shared his journey and the impact it had on the making of the documentary. Also in attendance was Emma Heming Willis, who has been open about her role as a caregiver for her husband, Bruce Willis, following his diagnosis with aphasia. Their shared experiences underscore the growing challenges faced by caregivers in the U.S. as the population ages.

ILC Canada was represented at the screening by Margaret Gillis, who further emphasized the global need for caregiving support. Her participation reinforced the importance of international dialogue on the caregiving crisis and the importance of addressing the challenges faced by caregivers worldwide.

Caregiving highlights the invisible crisis of caregiving, particularly in the context of the aging population, and serves as a powerful call for action to ensure that caregivers receive the support they deserve. Don’t miss this eye-opening documentary—stream it on June 24, 2025, and join the conversation about caregiving at a global level.
