Montreal - October 2025
The Canadian Coalition Against Ageing (CCAA) in partnership with the International Longevity Centre Canada (ILC Canada) hosted a half-day workshop on October 23, 2025 as a pre-conference event at the Canadian Association on Gerontology’s 54th Annual Scientific and Educational Meeting. The event, held in Montreal, was titled From Awareness to Action: Building a Canada Free of Ageism.
The event focused on co-developing elements of a national campaign to eliminate ageism, grounded in the World Health Organization’s evidence-based strategies: education, intergenerational connections, and policy and law reform.
The event built upon the findings of a previously hosted forum in June 2024 on Ageism and Health Care, Community Care, and Support, funded by the CIHR Institute on Aging. It provided the opportunity to report on the work completed post-forum, including the development of an Ageism Awareness Module and Toolkit.
