CAG 2025 Pre-Conference Workshop

From Awareness to Action: Building a Canada Free of Ageism

The Canadian Coalition Against Ageism (CCAA) is a growing, cross-sectoral alliance launched in 2022 to confront ageism and champion the rights, dignity, and inclusion of older persons in every facet of Canadian life.

In June 2024, with support from the CIHR Institute of Aging, CCAA hosted a groundbreaking national forum to identify collective priorities in education, research, and advocacy. That forum catalyzed the formation of Working Groups driving action on: Ageism Awareness, Education in Health Care Settings, Intergenerational Opportunities, and - Inclusion of Older Persons in Research.

This pre-conference workshop will highlight progress to date, preview powerful new tools like the Ageism Awareness Module and Toolkit, and spark dialogue around how we can all contribute to dismantling ageism in our communities and systems. Participants will engage in dynamic small-group discussions and collaborative strategy building, surfacing practical solutions and shared priorities to shape the future of this national movement.

The workshop is free.

Preregistration is required.
