The Harambee Alliance for Health, Wellness & Aging (HAHWAS), in collaboration with community leaders, researchers, clinicians, academic partners, and policymakers, is hosting a landmark event:
Elders in the Margins: Disrupting Ageism, Centering Black Lives & The Black Health and Wellness Expo
Date: February 7, 2026
Venue: Langara College, Vancouver (official partner)
This first-of-its-kind symposium in B.C. will bring together experts and community members working at the intersections of migration, race, aging, cultural wellness, and health equity. Your partnership will directly support elder participation, youth involvement, community honoraria, scholarships for grass-roots organizations, and accessibility measures – ensuring that the symposium remains deeply inclusive, culturally grounded, and community-led.
We welcome sponsors, vendors, exhibitors, and collaborators whose work aligns with:
Race and equity health systems
Aging, caregiving, and community care
Migration, diaspora, and cultural wellness
Public health, research, and health innovation
